WHO IS OPENBUILD?
Hi, I’m John Perkins, the founder and owner of OpenBuild. I co-founded Forte Homes in 1994 and managed it for the last thirty years. Recently, I sold my shares in order to take a different direction.
I wanted a more hands-on approach that’s completely open book from the get-go. This helps us to serve clients directly and make sure their expectations are met every step of the way–and that they are consistently happy with us, and their homes.
I now work in tandem with Bob Gawlik, who has also been in this business for decades and is a great guy that I think you’ll feel confident about. He and I are on the same page with the way we do business–in an open-book, hands-on way where we can confidently fulfill our clients’ needs.
I’ve been building custom homes in the Phoenix metro area since 1991 and have built approximately 500 custom homes. I’ve also developed and sold approximately 300 custom lots.
I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and received my Master of Business Administration from ASU.
Prior to founding Forte Homes, I was a design and test engineer in the aerospace industry, working at Motorola Government Electronics Group in Scottsdale for nine years.
I’ve been a licensed real estate salesperson in Arizona since 1994.
